We try to help people get the most out health and social care services by visiting the service and reporting back on our findings. We then work with the service to help them implement improvements to benefit everyone locally.

Enter and view visits since 2015

  • We have visited services across four neighbourhoods
  • We have completed 14 dingnity in care reviews onbehalf of Trafford council
  • We have completed 37 enter and view visits, including 30 care home
  • We have made 98 recommendations to services for improvements.

Good practice

We have found that most care homes appear to be listening to and acting on our feedback, including displaying information and highlighting changes made.

Issues identified

Most care homes were providing activities for residents.

However, some ran activities mainly for target groups such as people with dementia, at the expense of the others.

Comments were made in several care homes about a lack of communication between staff and residents including delays answering calls for toileting.

Care home managers have reported to us that dental care is a struggle as dentists do not provide home visits, particularly for residents with physical or mental health conditions. They felt the response from the community dental service was poor.
