HW10: What we do – partnering

We want to say thank you to all our partners, big and small, as part of Healthwatch’s 10-year anniversary. All this week we’re talking about our values and how we demonstrate them through our work.
Text ID: 10 years of partnering. A small star hovers under the final word which is underlined in pink.

We want to say a big thank you to everyone that’s partnered with us or engaged with our work over the years. We couldn’t do what we do without the support of local organisations, community groups, and of course- the people of Trafford. Over the last few years, hundreds of people have taken part in surveys, attended engagement sessions, sat on committees, and working groups, and talked to us about health and social care. This has enabled us to keep working for change and striving to ensure people can access the care that’s right for them.

We have worked with Trafford Council and Trafford Integrated Care Partnership time and time again over the years, and appreciate their understanding, involvement, and hard work in the area. Local health hubs and organisations have continued in their tireless efforts to help the community and we really value the way they've made space for us to come and chat to people as well as support our campaigns and research.

We’ve also worked together with nine other local Healthwatch as a Greater Manchester network, reporting on dentistry and COVID-19 as well as meeting and sharing insights, best practice, and successes. It has been wonderful to be able to work collaboratively with so many different organisations on so many projects.

We value partnerships because we think relationships and conversations are critical to changing and improving care for all, and we know our partners feel the same.

Here are a few words from our Chair, Heather Fairfield:

“Our Board and valued volunteers continue to work with a wide range of partners across many sectors. We look forward to working with an ever-increasing range of organisations committed to the newly developed Integrated Care System’s strategy aimed at reducing health inequalities which remain far too stark both in Trafford and Greater Manchester.

At the heart of this new Integrated Care System it will be even more important that the voices of our neighbourhoods and communities are heard and acted upon by decision makers if we are to match the ideals and aspirations of all Healthwatch in England to improve health and well-being.

We celebrate our 10-year anniversary and look forward to playing our part in improving lives of our Trafford residents through ensuring that your views and experiences are listened to and taken account of.”

Here’s to another 10 years!
